Statement on Julian Bond’s Passing by Self-Help CEO Martin Eakes

Aug 17, 2015

I am greatly saddened by the passing of Julian Bond, a lion for civil rights and a true American hero. I had the honor of knowing Julian personally, most recently through his generous service on Self-Help’s Center for Responsible Lending Board of Directors. His impact in advancing justice and equality for all Americans will live on for generations to come.

Martin Eakes, Self-Help CEO and Co-Founder
