Brevard, N.C. – Self-Help Credit Union on September 10 hosted an Open House to celebrate its new Brevard branch. The new location at Forest Gate Shopping Center significantly improves branch access for area Self-Help members.
“Self-Help Credit Union is excited to provide our members branch service in Brevard,” said Diane Rogers, Self-Help Credit Union Regional Director. “As the Transylvania County seat Brevard is a key commerce and community center and our members are already loving this convenient location.”
The Self-Help Brevard Branch opened in late May, when Self-Help relocated its Penrose branch and staff to the Forest Gate Shopping Center in order to improve member convenience.
“Member response to our new location has been strong,” said Missy Tucker, Branch Manager. “We’ve grown our deposits by almost $1 million in the less than four months since we relocated to Brevard.”
The Open House included a charity raffle with the winner receiving half of the amount in the pot. The other half of the pot is being donated to The Haven a temporary, emergency shelter for homeless families and individuals in Transylvania County.
Self-Help Credit Union offers a full range of financial products and services including home loans and small business loans and consumer loans. In addition to Brevard, Self-Help has nearby branches in Asheville, South Asheville, Hendersonville and Rosman and now has 17 branches across North Carolina and one in Galax, Virginia.
