As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we remember those who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. There will be countless traditional remembrances across the nation as people visit monuments and hold special events. Many will participate in the National Moment of Remembrance, an annual event that encourages Americans to pause for a moment of silence at 3:00 p.m. to honor the fallen.
Of course Memorial Day also includes the traditions of barbecues, parties and weekend getaways. No matter how you spend the weekend, we wish all our members, staff and friends a safe and relaxing holiday. Please remember that you can protect yourself and loved ones by being vaccinated. There are lots of reasons to do it. Watch this video to hear why Self-Help staff all over the country have chosen to get vaccines.
