Higher education costs money.

Self-Help Credit Union is now accepting applications for $500 Community Scholarships. Deadline is April 30, 2018.

Since 2015, each Self-Help Credit Union branch has awarded Community Scholarships to students with a proven commitment to community service. We offer these scholarships to encourage winners to continue to have a positive impact on their communities.

Applications are available at every Self-Help branch office and on our website. All applications must be submitted by April 30, 2018.

A Previous Scholarship Winner Does Good in His Community

One outstanding example of a Community Scholarship recipient is Shane Worley, one of the first recipients of the award. After graduating from high school in 1996, Shane worked in construction and enjoyed coaching football with young kids.

In 2010, Shane decided to go back to school, and in his final year at Brevard College he submitted a strong application and received a Community Scholarship from the credit union.

Now a teacher at Brevard High School, Shane leads classes in general science and carpentry and once again coaches football.

Open to Students of All Ages

Please spread the word about this scholarship or apply yourself! Each branch will award a $500 scholarship to a local student pursuing post-secondary education at a vocational school or college. Students do not need to be a Self-Help Credit Union member to apply.
