Hurricane Helene: Resources and Information

Our hearts are with our members being affected by Hurricane Helene, especially those who continue to face hardships from storm damage and flooding. Homes and businesses across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virgina have been damaged, and several thousand families are living in shelters or trying to get by without essentials such as clean running water.

We are here and ready to help. Our communities will get through this, together.

Branch Status Updates

We are making every effort to return to full service levels as soon as possible.

Several of our branches have re-opened with drive-through access only (lobbies are closed). Others will be closed indefinitely as we repair storm damage. Please continue to check back for updates.

      How to Help Affected Communities

Already, we’ve seen an inspiring outpouring of support as people across the country donate and mobilize to help those affected. If you’re looking for ways to help, any of the following organizations are great places to start:

What Self-Help is Doing to Help

In the short term, we are offering disaster relief loans, working closely with impacted borrowers, and waiving out-of-network ATM fees. We’re also working with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund to donate organizational funds, including offering 2-to-1 matches for donations from Self-Help employees. We are in conversations with partners who can help mobilize resources to meet pressing needs, as well as provide support for long-term rebuilding.

Unfortunately, recovery won’t be a short process. This storm was devastating, and we know the communities and people who were impacted have a long, hard road ahead.

But these are our communities, and we intend to be right here, helping with that recovery, for as long as it takes.
