We've Eliminated NSF Fees

Effective March 1, 2022, members of Self-Help CU will no longer be charged a fee for non-sufficient funds (NSF).

Prior to the change, an NSF fee would have been charged when your Self-Help CU account fell short of the funds needed to cover a payment or any other withdrawal from the account.

Other Member Benefits

Overdraft Coverage

Self-Help CU members are eligible for overdraft coverage at no cost. Our overdraft coverage is not abusive overdraft “protection” or so-called “courtesy pay" that some financial institutions offer to take advantage of their customers. Instead, our overdraft coverage is simply a linked account or loan that you choose -- savings, money market, personal line of credit or home equity line of credit -- that we can transfer funds from to cover checks and ACHs (automatic drafts) when there are shortfalls.

Personal Finance Resources

Self-Help CU members are also eligible for free financial capability training through our branches and through a third-party partner. This benefit can be helpful to you if you’re a member who wants to be better equipped to meet various personal financial management challenges. Many of our branches are served by Financial Capability coaches. We also partner with GreenPath, which is a nationwide provider of free financial education resources. Learn more about our GreenPath resources at www.self-help.org/greenpath.

At Self-Help Credit Union we routinely evaluate our products and services in an effort to keep pace with an ever-changing marketplace and to better meet the needs of all our members. We will continue to keep our mission at the forefront of everything we do.

To all of our members: We greatly appreciate you for choosing us as your financial services provider.
