As we enter bathing suit weather in North Carolina, many people think about shedding pounds, but it’s also a great time to shed debt and plan for rainy days. Nearly everyone would like to be in better shape financially—but how?
At Self-Help, we offer several ways members can get help with finances.
Available to all Self-Help Credit Union members: Access to financial tips and financial counseling from the nationally recognized financial education organization, BALANCE. Go here to find out more.
New opportunity in western NC: This summer, we’re excited to announce a special program for members in the western part of the state. Beginning in June, we’re teaming up with OnTrack WNC Financial Education and Counseling to offer free counseling sessions at designated times in our branch offices. OnTrack WNC staff are ready to help with specific financial goals, such as buying a first home or managing a student loan, or more general issues, such as improving your credit score and creating a realistic budget.
All OnTrack WNC Financial Education and Counseling sessions will be held at our South French Broad branch, and limited dates are now available in June, July and August. To find our more or schedule your appointment, call 828.255.0809, x 3502.
Collaborating to Help Families Save and Build Credit
During the past year, Self-Help Credit Union staff have worked closely with OnTrack WNC to help provide financial products to benefit local families, such as tax refund savings accounts and small loans for building credit. In May, Self-Help staff were honored to receive OnTrack WNC's Credit Where Credit is Due Award.
