Internship Program: Self-Help/CRL offers a 10 week summer internship program that is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while broadening their knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI’s). Along with each specific intern project, the intern will participate in a series of brownbag lunches to learn more about Self-Help and the Community Development industry as a whole. Interns will also be given the opportunity to network with one another and other Self-Helpers through a variety of planned events. Internship Description: The purpose of this internship is to research, identify, and establish a referral network for sourcing nontraditional mortgage loans and/or build a pipeline of borrowers in the Self-Help Apopka branch trading area. Support the engagement with prospect referral sources and borrowers. Essential Responsibilities: Develop an understanding of SHCU mortgage and supporting consumer loan products to create positioning statement for our non-traditional mortgage products. Identify and map all possible direct and/or indirect channels to access our target market in our trading area. Develop contacts, establish connections and document outreach efforts on a few prioritized channels. Design, and document the usage of guerrilla marketing strategies to effectively reach our target market. Support engagement activities directed to outreach and educating of referral sources. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to utilize databases for secondary research. Ability to professionally communicate with the public Ability to organize information and professionally document and build tables Desired Qualifications: Bilingual in Spanish Physical Requirements: Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 10 pounds.
