Internship Program: 
Self-Help/CRL offers a 10 week summer internship program that is designed to give students valuable experience in a professional setting while broadening their knowledge of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI’s). Along with each specific intern project, the intern will participate in a series of brownbag lunches to learn more about Self-Help and the Community Development industry as a whole. Interns will also be given the opportunity to network with one another and other Self-Helpers through a variety of planned events.

Internship Description: 
Self-Help is partnering with a large religious denomination that is working to organize a faith-based credit union. The Research Associate will conduct and analyze market research to help identify specific markets and target church's assist in the development of communication programs that effectively promotes the credit union formation through social media, newsletters, emails, etc.; build and maintain lists and reports related to marketing and business development; assists on assigned marketing projects within scope, timeline and budget; and help monitor internal and external resources to meet assigned objectives.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience using social media for brand growth / awareness
  • Customer service experience.

Desired Qualifications: 
* Project Management experience.

Physical Requirements: 
Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 10 pounds.
